Tensions within the firm escalated, and despite efforts to secure capital from the Korea Development Bank, the firm's stock continued to fall. In the end, the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP) was introduced to rescue the financial system from toxic mortgage assets. Despite these hurdles, the bailout bill was finally passed, and the government injected $250 billion into the banking system to stabilize the financial market, marking the historic nationalization of the financial system.
