Seneca, also known as Lucius Annaeus Seneca, was a Roman Stoic philosopher, statesman, and playwright, who lived from approximately 4 BCE to 65 CE. He served as an advisor to Emperor Nero and is renowned for his philosophical works, which emphasize practical ethics and the Stoic principles of virtue, reason, and self-control. "On the Shortness of Life: Life Is Long if You Know How to Use It" is one of his most famous essays, where he argues that life is squandered by many in pursuit of trivialities and distractions, and that a meaningful and fulfilling life can be achieved through the wise and intentional use of one's time.
