About Author

Marcus Aurelius, a Roman emperor from 161 to 180 AD, was known as a philosopher king and is the author of "Meditations." This work is a series of personal writings, which record his private notes to himself and his ideas on Stoic philosophy. "Meditations" was not intended for publication and provides insights into his governance philosophy and ethical guidance. Marcus Aurelius is considered one of the last Five Good Emperors and his reign is often seen as the end of the Pax Romana.
