About Author

Rick Hanson, Ph.D., is a psychologist, Senior Fellow of the Greater Good Science Center at UC Berkeley, and New York Times best-selling author known for his work in the fields of self-help and positive psychology, with a focus on the connections between neuroscience and contemplative practices. Richard Mendius, MD, is a neurologist and meditation teacher with a background in brain research, who has also had a clinical practice. Together, Hanson and Mendius co-authored "Buddha's Brain: The Practical Neuroscience of Happiness, Love, and Wisdom," which explores how mindfulness and meditation can physically change the brain's structure to improve well-being and emotional health.
